SUNRISE
Streamline cosmetic production with AI-driven, gesture-controlled robotics
Our solution helps SME enhance efficiency, scalability, safe and custom production. By integrating gesture/voice recognition, IoT sensors, and seamless IT, we streamline operations and drive innovation in cosmetics, health, and custom manufacturing.
The Challenge: Overcoming Complexity in Cosmetic Manufacturing
Plastifer, a leader in cosmetics, health, and laboratory products, produces over 3,000 sink designs and 500 ventilator models. Manual machine reprogramming and quality checks for these custom products are time-consuming, error-prone, and limit scalability. Operators struggle with complex configurations, inconsistent quality, and lack of automation, hindering efficiency. SUNRISE tackles these challenges by introducing intuitive robotic control and real-time monitoring, reducing errors and enabling focus on high-value tasks.
Our Solution: AI-Powered Robotics for Seamless Production
SUNRISE integrates the Tactigon SOUL suite (TRL7) with ROS 2, FIWARE, and IoT sensors to automate machine configuration and quality control. Operators use gesture and voice commands to recall designs and reprogram tasks, while AI adapts robot behavior using historical data. Peer-to-peer networks enable real-time quality feedback, ensuring precision.
Key features include:
- Gesture and Voice Control: Intuitive interfaces for rapid design recall and task switching.
- IoT-Driven Quality Monitoring: Sensors detect defects, offering real-time suggestions for soldering or assembly.
- Peer-to-peer networks enable real-time quality feedback, ensuring precision
- ERP Integration: Streamlines design selection and updates production systems.
Human Centricity: Empowering Operators for Smarter Work
SUNRISE aligns with Industry 5.0 by automating repetitive tasks like machine setup, reducing errors and cognitive load. Operators shift to decision-making and quality control, boosting satisfaction by 20-25%. Intuitive gesture and voice controls require no coding skills, making the system accessible to diverse workers, including those with limited technical expertise. User-centered design, informed by operator feedback, ensures inclusivity and enhances workflow efficiency, fostering engaging, equitable workplaces.
The ARISE Contribution: Open-Source Innovation for Industry
SUNRISE contributes open-source ROS 2 modules to the ARISE Catalog, enabling adaptation across manufacturing sectors.
These include:
- HRI Module: Gesture and voice recognition for intuitive robot control.
- IoT and FIWARE Module: Real-time monitoring and analytics for quality assurance.
- Adaptive AI Module: hybrid learning for optimized robot behavior.
- Built on ROS 2 and FIWARE, these interoperable modules support scalability in industries like food, beverage, and electronics, driving collaborative innovation.
Impact & Scalability: Transforming Cosmetic Manufacturing and Beyond
SUNRISE targets the $808 million collaborative robot market, growing at 15.2% CAGR to $2.5 billion by 2030, with a serviceable market of €17.6 million. It delivers 15-20% efficiency gains, 30% error reduction, and enhanced customization, empowering SMEs in cosmetics, health, and related sectors. By cutting downtime and waste, SUNRISE supports EU Green Deal goals, promoting sustainable, inclusive manufacturing with broad industrial impact.
